Lens Sharpness Comparison

Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 vs. Tokina 11-16
Sharpness at 16mm.

Lenses were tested at 16mm on tripod.

First comparison is their widest aperture for this focal length which is F5 for Sigma and F2.8 for Tokina. At this comparison Tokina is suffering serious vignetting and its corner sharpness is also weak against Sigma 10-20.

In the second comparison both lenses were stopped down to F5.6 and Tokina cured its vignetting. Their corner and center sharpness performanses are pretty close at this aperture.

When they are stopped down to F8 in the third comparison, they again seem to be doing pretty close to eachother.

Its also hard to pick a better one for F16 in the fourth comparison.             [Review by Sinan Ozturk]
